I have been a long time fan of Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson of Basecamp. Last week, I decided to give Basecamp a go for my personal projects, and was floored by the fantastic customer service.

Basecamp is free for students, and I came to know this fact only last week on their website. One has to contact their customer service to get access. So I dropped an email to them, explaining that I am a student and needed Basecamp for school.

There was a reply within 10 minutes, with 3 simple questions about my school and program and what was I planning to use Basecamp for. No ID cards, no proof of enrollment, nothing! After I gave them the details, I was given access to the software within 5 minutes. Now this is what I call a mind-blowing customer service.
